I’m a music teacher based in Chicago’s western suburbs offering private lessons on the double bass, piano, and electric bass. My musical journey began in 2nd grade when I started taking piano lessons. Under my teacher, Barbra Masters, I gained a deep appreciation for the instrument and the joys of performing. When I was in 5th grade, I discovered the double bass at an instrument petting zoo and was instantly hooked. Through that instrument I learned the thrill of artistic collaboration and went on to play in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras for my entire high school career. It was there when I learned that music was going to be my lifelong pursuit.
In addition to my classical music upbringing, I have spent many years playing jazz in my high school’s big band where I first learned how to play the electric bass. Outside of school I was a part of a jazz trio playing the music of Django Reinhardt and other standards. During college, I joined a jazz adjacent indie band where we frequently perform in venues across Chicago.
My studio offers students the chance to explore music through a wide variety of styles and genres and promotes healthy habits like injury prevention in addition to good technique. Sign up for your free trial lesson today!
